Welcome to the Willamette Valley Hardy Plant Group, a non-profit 501 (c)(3) volunteer organization for gardeners of all experience levels. The Willamette Valley Hardy Plant Group is dedicated to the promotion of hardy herbaceous perennials and other woody material that is or may be available in the near future in the nursery trade throughout the Pacific Northwest. We have been active for close to 20 years and have over 250 members. Our meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month except December, when we have a holiday party, and July and August. This year we have gardens open each month. The open gardens are listed in our monthly newsletter, "The Hardy Plant," which is mailed to our members and is also available online.
We also sponsor two plants sales each year. Our spring sale is held the day before Mother's Day, this year it will be Saturday, May 10 and a fall sale that will be held Saturday, August 30. Both sales are held at the Lane County Fairgrounds.
This year we are the sponsors for the annual Study Weekend. The Study Weekend, "Breaking The Rules" will be held in Eugene at The Valley River Inn, June 20-22. This event is for gardeners of types and includes garden tours, lectures and plant and book sales. Check the Study Weekend page for more information and updates for registration.
Meetings are held on the UO campus in Agate Hall (18th and Agate, across from Hayward Field) at 7:00 PM and the public is welcome. Plenty of free parking is available next to the building. The charge for a meeting/lecture is $3 for members and $6 for non-members. Membership is $20 per year.
