Willamette Valley Hardy Plant Group

A non-profit, 501 (c)(3) volunteer organization whose primary purpose is to educate the community about perennials, shrubs and other plants for use in the garden, share each other's gardens and foster a love of gardening.

 

 


Our MONTHLY MEETINGS take place at the Campbell Community Center at 155 High Street (the corner of High Street and Second Avenue in Eugene, right at the edge of Skinner Butte Park.) There is ample parking in the parking lot at the corner of 2nd Ave. and High Street.  Please see CONTACT US page for map and directions.

Meetings begin at 7:00 PM on the second Tuesday of each month, and the public is welcome. Admission charge is free for members and $5/non-members. Membership is $20.00 a year or $35.00 for 2 years for a two person household.

With his wife, Maria, Mike operates, Dover Nursery, a large rhododendron nursery, in Sandy, OR, is a past president of the American Rhododendron Society, and has trekked in the Himalayas looking for new species.

The public is invited at no charge to vicariously trek through the Himalayas to see the wide variety of plants of the region. Please join us for cookies, coffee, and conversation at 7:00 p.m. before the program at 7:30. As usual, the meeting will be at the Campbell Community Center, 155 High Street in Eugene.

Oregon Heather Society
Spring Heather Pruning
Saturday, March 10

11 am to 1 pm


Learn how to identify heathers and when to prune them.  Oregon Heather Society members will demonstrate correct pruning techniques during the semi-annual pruning of the hospital's heather garden.

Bring your favorite pruners, gloves, kneeling pad, sack lunch (so you can eat with us afterward), plastic bag if you want to take home cuttings to root. Dress for the weather.
